Ideas To Combat Global Waming

Up to 20 million people in low-lying areas of Bangladesh are at risk from rising sea-levels, according to new research. So the country needs inventive solutions to help minimise the impact of flooding in the future.
Britain's Department for International Development is sponsoring farmers to cultivate crabs, ducks not chickens, and gardens that float.
The BBC's David Shukman has been to see how some of the solutions may help those who are in areas vulnerable to flooding.

may as well tell me now. Was it Tina Minetti?"
"I cannot say."
"Was it Teresa Mazzarelli?"
"I'll never tell."
"Was it Nina Capelli?"
"I'm sorry but I cannot name her."
"Was it Cathy Piriano""
"My lips are sealed."
"Was it Rosa DiAngello then?"
"Please, Father I cannot tell you."
The priest sighs in frustration. "You're very tight lipped,
and I admire that. But you have sinned and have to
atone. You cannot be an alta boy now
for 4 months.
Joey walks back to his pew and his friend Franco slides over
and whispers, "What did you get?"
"Four months vacation and five good leads ................

Why Do We Say That?

APPLE OF MY EYE
This is another phrase that comes from the Bible. In Psalm 17:8 the writer asks God "keep me as the apple of your eye.

GOLLY GOSH
In the past it wasn't polite to use the exclamation 'God'. Instead people said Golly! or Gosh! Sometimes they said Heck! instead of Hell.

WIDE BERTH
A berth is the place where a ship is tied up or anchored. When the anchor was lowered a ship would tend to move about on the anchor cable, so it was important to give it a wide berth to avoid collisions, Today, to give someone a wide berth is to steer clear of them.

WHIPPING BOY
Prince Edward, later Edward VI, had a boy who was whipped in his place every time was naughty.
