Horseracing

Following yesterdays 2000 Guineas at Newmarket for the colts, today sees the fillies take their turn in the 1000 Guineas (Newmarket 3.15). We have a 'best bet' selection in this race, the Irish trained Cuis Ghaire trained by Jim Bolger and ridden by Kevin Manning. This beautifully bred bay filly is by Galileo out of the mare Scribonia, who was in turn sired by Danehill. Cuis Ghaire has not run since last August, when she finished eighth of nine at Leopardstown. She was unsuited by the soft ground on that occasion, but given good to firm ground today she can make her presence felt in the second Classic of the season. Good luck with this selection.
