A set of identical twins will celebrate their birthdays on different days after being born either side of midnight on New Year's Eve.
Their mother Margarita Velasco went into labour on December 31 in Tampa, Florida.
Baby Marcello was delivered by Caesarean minutes before midnight.
His brother, Stephano, was born moments after 2010 began.
The twins' father Juan said it would be fun for the boys to enjoy birthday parties on different days when they were older.
He added he was relieved both babies were delivered safely after a "high risk" pregnancy.
Born ten weeks premature, the twins are expected to remain in hospital for two months.
