Tweety Pie Has Joined The Over 60s

Didn't we just love them! Tweety Pie (pictured right now over 60), well he has had a hard life evading capture from that pesky Sylvester the cat. Sylvester has been around since 1945 when Isadore 'Friz' Freleng, an animation director, gave birth to him in the Termite Terrace animation studios. Sylvester's first lispy words were "Thufferin Thuccotash", the voice-over being done by Mel Blanc. From 1947 to 1964 Sylvester teamed up with Tweety Pie, and became two of the best loved characters in cartoon history, winning two Oscars and a third nomination. In 1998 the pair appeared together on a U.S. postage stamp.
Tweety Pie was a product of Warner Bros. Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoons. Despite widespread speculation that Tweety Pie was a female, he is and has always been a male character. Although originally a canary he is also regarded as a 'Tweetybird' and was once called "The only living specimen."
You can bet your bottom dollar that even now Sylvester will not be lurking far away.

To understand what that advert was all about go to byersblog and click on Peter's post 'Clever and Simple', dated 11 April 2009.
