Profile - The Hairy Bikers
Dave Myers, from Barrow-in-Furness and Si King, from Washington, Tyne and Wear, are together the Hairy Bikers. They both came from a background in television and film production. Myers is a professional make-up artist, specialising in prosthetics, whilst King has served as locations manager on productions like Harry Potter and Byker Grove.

Si and Dave aren't professional chefs but they are lifelong food lovers. They met through work on the set of a TV drama and ever since they have been heading off, on their motorcycles, to far flung corners of the globe in search of authentic culinary and cultural experiences.
Simon King lives in Newcastle, with his partner and three children, has an infectious laugh and friendly charm. His interest in food stems from his father, who was in the royal Navy. and brought back exotic ingredients from his travels.
Dave Myers worked as a furnaceman in a steelworks to finance his Master's degree in fine arts. He later joined the BBC. Dave has travelled extensively and now lives on Roa Island, in Morcambe Bay, where he's Club Champion at the boat club.
The duo's TV shows are a mixture of cookery and travelogue - most shows feature the pair on their motorcycles. Their TV appearances include, The Hairy Bikers Cookbook, several appearances on Saturday Kitchen and Richard and Judy.
In summer 2009 they filmed a new 30-part daytime show 'The Hairy Bikers Tour of Great Britain' for BBC2. The first screening of the show was on 24 August 2009 and sees them visit a different country each day and cook what they consider to be that countries signature dish.
