Loose Women
Apologies if this post is not about what you were expecting but I refer of course to the mid-day television programme which is shown on ITV at 12.30 p.m. Monday to Friday. Personally, I find the show very entertaining. I think its winning formula stems from the fact that it has a great mix of light hearted serious debate, frivolous chat and humour, often bawdy. The girls are all attractive, have geat personalities and are surprisingly candid when discussing areas of their private lives. About two year or so ago I went, with the present Mrs Garlant, to see a live recording of the show. We were only there about one hour, but as we combined it with a day out in London that didn't really matter. What a great time we had. Before the show and during the commercial breaks the studio erupted into hilarious uproar as we were entertained by a brilliant and very talented warm-up comedian. What you do not realise when watching the programme at home is that during the commercial breaks, which only last about three minutes, there is a hive of activity happening on the set. Microphones being adjusted, make-up being touched up and floor managers giving instructions and yet by the time the cue is given to continue recording, the set is cleared, silence descends and it appears to the viewer that everything has carried on exactly as it had left off. I hope the programme continues to run for a long time. Carry on girls the looser the better!
